Homework

Homework will be handed out on a Friday to be returned on Wednesday.

 

Maths:

 

Children will be set maths homework each week. It comprise of one or more of the following:

 

  • Arithmetic papers to develop familiarity with test questions
  • Reasoning problems

 

Literacy:

 

Children will also be set one independent piece of Literacy to practise key skills learned in class that week. This could comprise of:

 

  • short reading comprehension to develop discrete skills of inference, retrieval or summary
  • Accelerated reading - children must be reading at least 20 minutes per night
  • SPAG Revision
  • Children will also be expected to revise the key spellings each week to be tested upon on Fridays

 

Remember:

Homework should always be neatly presented in your homework book. There should be a date and clear objective listed at the top of the page, which is underlined using a ruler. Please show all working out rather than just an answer so I can see how you have solved it independently.
