Neil Armstrong - the lives of significant individuals in the past who have contributed to national and international achievements

 

Building on from their previous learning of events and individuals, here the children will explore a significant global event that would be more recognisable within their lifetime. They will explore the history and chronology of the Space Race; the main contributors; what was the cause of the Space Race; how did this bring about change and ask questions as to what is occurring now; explore history at that time and consider why it was so important in that period; examine the consequences of their actions and ask and answer historical questions in an enquiry based manner.
