Jesus appoints the Twelve
Today, we thought about Jesus asking the apostles to be part of his community. We looked at how he chose different people and how he called them to him. Lexi, Ruby and Olivia asked the children to write the names of people in their life who were important to them and include them on their mountain before they were added to the prayer table.
Some of our important people were: our parents, our siblings and our friends.
What makes community?
In Collective Worship, we looked at the story Jesus walks on water. We explored how this shows the need for faith and trust in our communities.
We thought of lots of different fears we had and when they were placed on the prayer table we let our fears sail away.
Today, we have journeyed around school completing different sessions about the year of hope.
We started by reading Isaiah 40:31 - But the people who trust the Lord will become strong again. They will be able to rise up as an eagle in the sky. They will run without needing rest. They will walk without becoming tired.
We then wrote a hope we have for this year to add to our jar. We then moved around and completed different activities.
We know that it is important to welcome everyone.
"I can help people in need and give them food."
"I can help people if they fall over."
"I will stand up for people"
"I can stand up to people who are being bullied"
