SAT's Information

SAT's Timetable 2025

This year, SAT's will commence on w/c 12th May 2025:. Your child will sit a total of 6 papers over a four day period. There is a grammar paper alongside a spelling test; one reading assessment and 3 maths papers consisiting of fluency of calculations with the arithmetic, and problem solving with reasoning papers 2 and 3. The children will be well prepared for the assessments as we are trying to aid their transition to high school. The assessments will take place on the following dates:

Monday 12th May - Spelling Punctuation & Grammar Paper

Tuesday 13th May - Reading Comprehension

Wednesday 14th May - arithmetic paper 1

                                      - Reasoning paper 2

Thursday 15th May - Reasoning paper 3

As with usual OLSA tradition, we will invite the children into school at 8:30am each morning of the tests for a breakfast treat. Children will receive toast, jams, fruits and yoghurts before the assessments. We also allow the children to bring in a drink of their choice: tea, coffee, hot chocolate, vimto. Children in the past have even had a Costa/Starbucks run in advance! The choice is theirs. It is just a nice way for them to start the day in a relaxed manner with their friends. We will explain this in more detail nearer to the time.

How can you help your child?

1. Plenty of rest the night before each assessment.

2. Have a look on the class webpage - there are a variety of resources to help your child with areas of need.

3. Stress the importance of trying their best. If they do this, there is nothing else we can ask of them. They are all amazing children and will do well regardless of a test - they must remember the importance of them being themselves!

If you are at all concerned with anything regarding these procedures, please do not hesitate but to come and speak to me.
