  • Romero Catholic Academy Trust

    Tue 26 Sep 2023

In the Spring term 2024, we will start the journey of conversion to become part of the Romero Catholic Academy Trust. Earlier this year the Bishop wrote to all schools providing dates for when the schools will convert. This will be a journey for all Catholic schools in the Diocese.

Romero Catholic Academy trust is one of three Catholic Academy trusts established by the Diocese of Salford to serve the schools in the north of the Diocese.

Please rest assured that Our Lady and St Anselm’s will continue to serve all families and provide the best education for all children just as we do now. As a parent, day to day, you will not notice any difference to how the school is run. Being part of the trust will allow us to work more collaboratively with Catholic schools in our local area.

  • Operation Encompass

    Thu 11 Apr 2019

In conjunction with Lancashire Police,  Our Lady and St Anselm’s RC School is involved in a national initiative called “Operation Encompass”.  The purpose of Operation Encompass is to safeguard and support children and young people who have been involved in, heard or witnessed a domestic abuse incident.

Following an incident, children will often arrive at school distressed, upset, worried and unprepared.  Operation Encompass aims to ensure that appropriate school staff are made aware early enough to help and support children and young people in a way that means they feel safe and included.

This is a valuable initiative that means we can help and support students and their families within our school when they need us most.

You can find out more information by visiting the Operation Encompass website (click the button below) or by contacting Mrs Rainey at school.
